So. These standards of beauty are pushed on women, forced on them even. But when a woman bends to the pressures around her, she is still criticized? Why? For doing what she has been taught she is supposed to do? For doing what will make her feel beautiful or confident? There is no win.

Abuse is wrong. Any form of abuse is wrong. And justifying any form of abuse with “For every action there is a reaction” is wrong. I hope one day you meet a victim of abuse (statistics say you probably already have) and have to look into their eyes while they tell you the personal hells they had to live through. Then you can tell me if this absurd and disgusting hate speech is okay. Also, unless you can back up that bullshit with an actual study, statistic, or any form of logical proof you show your mouth.
Just so we are clear, friends, Penelope Trunk was abused by her husband because he said she talked too much. In the blog post linked above, it does not mention her being actually abusive, it just says she is a nag. That does not make her abusive, and it does not make abusing her okay.
Yeah men get fucked over more but only because men are more awesome than women, so society makes us take all the heat. Take child support for instance. If you get divorced, or knock up some slut, society makes you pay because by the time she’s done raising that kid, she’s done. Unless a man is fat and a complete loser, he’s still prime real estate at 60 years old.
Whining is for women, not men. MRAs whine like women. Quit whining and take up jogging. If you meet a woman who says she’s a feminist, tell her how great that is and how you wish women had more rights. Stop competing with women for who’s the whiniest when you’ve been blessed with balls that pump the hormones that produce awesomeness. She’s telling you that she’s a feminist for God’s sake! She might as well be saying: “Be gentle.” How can you argue with that?

Yeah, you may think this is awesome, but only because you are a sexist asshole, so now you are going to have to go through your life knowing that. Take that first example, for instance. If you don’t understand that child support is for the benefit of the child and is paid to make sure they have what they need you are ignorant. And at no point is a man or a woman “done”.
Whining is not the same thing as pointing out societal flaws, and men and women are both permitted to take a part in that. PWLS whine about bullshit. Quit whining and open a book. I had high hopes for this when I saw the title and then it got awful. Stop making disgusting, sexist remarks when you have been blessed with a mind that has the capacity to move past bullshit and actually learn. I’m telling you that you are better than this as a human being. I might as well be saying: “Be less terrible”. How can you argue with that?
It scares me because this is not an uncommon thought process. It scares me because this happens. It scares me because this is why a lot of rapists are never convicted and a lot of victims never report what happened to them.
I know this has been circulating around tumblr like crazy, alone with the exact same commentary. But that commentary is necessary. It is necessary to say that this is wrong and let it be know that this kind of though process is dangerous for potential victims and that it just adds to a culture where victims are at fault.
It is important to call out bullshit and sexism and bigotry. There needs to a be a community that gets pissed off when this happens to make it clear that this is not acceptable. We will not sit silently by and allow these things.

First of all, prostitutes are not having RECREATIONAL sex. It’s their job. I work at a phone bank. I don’t call people while I’m working and say it’s a RECREATIONAL phone call. Don’t get the two things confused.
Second, who exactly is saying we want people to pay for us to have sex? I keep seeing this lie, and I would like to know its source. Nobody wants you to pay us for sex. It’s insurance paying for medicine.
Birth control is medicine. If you don’t think that’s true, ask all the women who take birth control and don’t have sex. It’s medicine. Tell me that birth control is not medicine but pills for E.D. is, and then look me in the eye and tell me this isn’t all a bunch of bullshit.

How it looks all over the world: Strong women are just not “in”. Of course, Meryl Streep IS strong and a self-proclaimed feminist. But this is is accepted (even though the last fact might be ignored), cause men might identify her as a mother.
Lisbeth holds up the mirror to society: People are pressed in roles and women for example just have to get over sexual abuse and rape and have to act like nothing happened or digest it in a therapy, where they will stay victims either way.
If the woman wants revenge people act like this would be the last proof, that she’s gone insane or they would call her aggressive and MANLY.
And here it is: If a man gets raped, it is called much worse than when a woman gets raped, because the last case is “normal” or even “her fault” because she dressed “slutty” or something.
In the case of the man everyone would expect or even support him to take brutal revenge.
In the case of the woman everyone would expect her to become sad, shy, introverted and always has to be hugged and protected: Either an abused and helpless little girl, who will stay a victim for the rest of her life and needs a strong man who protects her and with that also “earns the right” to fuck her (here movies and society act like the raped woman just needs a bit of time and then she will be ready to have sex again, like she didn’t got a lifelong trauma) or she will be the “used one”, a slut some people don’t want to touch cause she has already been taken, and some people will even get turned on by her rape and think she is “easy to have” and make ambiguos offers towards her.Iit’s fucking disgusting and i can’t believe that almost the whole society ignores it. But Rooney’s role Lisbeth broke this social tabu. She didn’t just took really righteous and satisfying revenge, she also didn’t bothered being the either cute-submissive or motherly-warmly woman, that society expects from women and even girls (puke!). She does not greet everyone with a smile, like it would be “normal” for a woman, she has a healthy distrust; people have to earn her trust.
Society describes women like her as ”mentally disturbed”, “dismissive” and “cold” (a MAN with that behaviour would be described as “cool”, “tough” and a “real man”).
Well, what to expect from people whose role models are naive-hamster-smile-selena-gomez, the-world-is-a-huuuge-candyshop-miley-cyrus and please-protect-me-bella

I really, really like this….kind of. I completely agree that the way rape victims are normally portrayed is dangerous and unrealistic. However, this whole rant started off by calling another woman a “fat whore”. Really? All because she was openly and apologetically sexual? She too refused to stick with the cookie-cutter image of what a woman was supposed to be. Also, the year that Rooney Mara (a badass, no doubt) lost, she lost to Meryl Streep who was playing the part of Margaret Thatcher. Margaret Thatcher was the first and only female British Prime Minister, and she held that position longer than anyone else has. She was an amazingly strong woman who broke down barriers and certainly did not fit into the box of what women have been expected to be. And, finally, the piece ends by insulting an entire generation of women for not looking up the the correct female role models.
In conclusion, be different. But be different in a certain way. Meryl Streep is not different in a good way. Margaret Thatcher is not strong in the right way. Marilyn Monroe is too fat and whorish for her independence and status as a self-made woman to count. And all the young girls of the world don’t look up to the proper women (even though I do hasten to add that Miley Cyrus has actually made some pretty awesome and progressive statements about sexuality). So step up, ladies. You’re doing it wrong.
